Common Issues In Vape Pods And DIY Fixes
Vape pods are great until they act up. One day you’re enjoying a smooth puff, the next you’re dealing with weak flavor or strange gurgling sounds.
Before you think about buying a new Voopoo vape pod, know that many common problems have simple fixes you can do yourself. With a little know-how, you can often get your device working like new again.
Weak or burnt flavor:
A weak or burnt taste is a common headache. This usually means your coil has reached its end. E-liquid leaves residue that builds up, and eventually, the coil just burns out. For a weak flavor, check your pod is full. E-liquid below the wicking holes can cause this. A burnt taste means you want a new coil. To make coils last longer, keep your pod filled and let a new coil soak for five minutes after filling.
Pod spitback and gurgling:
Hearing a gurgle or getting a splash of e-liquid on your tongue is unpleasant. This is called spitback, and it happens when e-liquid floods the coil. To fix this, remove the pod from the battery. Wipe the connection points with a tissue. Then, cover the mouthpiece with a paper towel and flick the pod quickly a few times. This forces the extra liquid out. Wipe it clean and you should be good to go.
Device not firing:
You press the button, but nothing happens. First, don’t panic. Check if your device is turned on. Most have a quick button press sequence to power them on. If it’s on, the battery might be dead. Connect it to the charger for a while. Another simple fix is to check the pod is pushed all the way into the battery. A loose connection can stop it from working.
Auto-firing problems:
If your device starts firing on its own without you pressing the button, this is serious. Immediately remove the pod from the battery. This is often caused by e-liquid leaking into the internal parts of the device. Carefully clean the area where the pod connects to the battery with a cotton swab. If the problem continues, stop using the device for safety.
Leaking pod:
Finding e-liquid seeping from your pod is messy. Leaks are often caused by changes in temperature or a pod that isn’t sealed correctly. Ensure the pod’s rubber plug and the black cap are on tightly. If you fill your pod, avoid overfilling it. Always keep your device upright instead of on its side. This helps prevent pressure changes that push liquid out.
